Six by Nico: A Review

Six by Nico: A Review

Recently we visited Six by Nico’s Fitzrovia restaurant. The popular restaurant has two branches in London, the second being in Canary Wharf. When we visited they were serving The Hollywood menu, inspired by some of the world’s most iconic films. Come with us as we take you through the experience and food we had.

What is the Six by Nico Concept?

A cosy restaurant interior with dark chairs, table and wood paneling. A small orange candle flickers in the middle of the table

Six by Nico offers a unique concept of an ever changing menu. Every six weeks diners are treated to a brand new menu of six individual dishes. You can choose between the regular menu or the vegetarian menu.

Menus can be influenced by cultures’ popular food, iconic moments and so much more. The menu being served after The Hollywood is Land of Oz, to coincide with the much awaited release of the Wicked movie featuring Ariana Granda and Cynthia Erivo. Historic menus include The Chippy, inspired by the classic British chippy tea (we have experienced this particular menu in Six by Nico, Edinburgh).

Our Review: The Hollywood Menu

We arrived slightly early to our booking at Six by Nico, but the host sat us in the bar area where we could order drinks before our table was ready.

The Fitzrovia restaurant was far larger than expected (we’d previously visited Edinburgh) which is quite small in comparison! But the decor was lovely, a little industrial but felt very modern and cosy.

The staff were lovely and attentive, and the food was both creative and delicious. Whilst we appreciate the spacing between courses to allow time to savour – at times it did feel a little long. As there were only two of us dining it didn’t take us too long to eat each course (with both our eyes and stomachs)! I think the wait may have been a little unusual as we were given free drinks in between courses 5 and 6 whilst we waited which was a thoughtful touch!

The Cost: £50pp + service (drinks are in addition to this – the current menu’s cocktails are very affordable for London coming in around the £10 mark)
